In the past, the most common camera is IR camera, which supports black and white vision at night. With new technology upgrading, Elzeonta launch HD full-color night vision series of IP camera, such as 4MP/5MP/8MP Super Starlight Camera, and 4MP/5MP Dark Conqueror Camera.
How does full-color night vision camera work?
Firstly, we must know, some important factors affecting the image quality of the camera include Len, Iris aperture, Image sensor, Supplement light. Because they determine photopermeability, the light coming through the lens, sensitivity and fill light ability.
Different levels of hardware combine to create different types of cameras. We called these as IR, starlight, super starlight and blacklight module.
As we know, IR module support black and white night vision, then Starlight, Super starlight and blacklight module support full-color night vision.
However, their tolerance of color is quite different. It depends on the low illumination level of light:
IR: Light sensitivity is weak, under the illumination of more than 0.2LUX will turn on IR light, the picture switches to black and white mode.
Star light: With common starlight sensor, it can maintain full-color picture at 0.02LUX low light. While less than 0.02LUX, it needs supplement light to catch full color night vision.
Super starlight: With higher-level sensor, it can maintain full-color picture at 0.002LUX weak light. While less than 0.002LUX, it needs supplement light to catch full color night vision.
Black light: With highest-level sensor, it can maintain full-color picture at 0.0005LUX dim light. If less than 0.0005LUX, it still needs supplement light to catch full color night vision.
Through the knowledge mentioned above, we have learnt that Night vision effect is: Blacklight > Super Starlight > Starlight > IR.
